Different cultures have different gestures. While eye contact in the west means confidence or sincerity, the one in the east asia is varied in context. In Korean culture, direct and constant eye contact in conversation is burden or rude sometimes, especially for among strangers. Therefore, it is difficult for me to keep the eye contact. Today, I had a short interview to get a proper level for the enrollment of an english institute. Even if I kept in mind to maintain my direct eye contact with the interviewer, it was rather burden to me. So, I distributed my eyesight half to the eyes of the interviewr, the other half to the empty space beside her. Huu..
